Research Interests

Investigation of functional disability in older women with breast cancer; Study of exercise capacity and physical performance in older populations

Professor Satariano's research interests include the epidemiology of aging and disability, functional assessment, cancer rehabilitation and survival, physical activity and health in older populations, and the effects of the built environment on health and functioning. He has access to a wide variety of available sources of population-based data on aging, health, and functioning. A number of these datasets include reports and direct assessments of vision. BCSDP trainees in the proposed program would have access to these data for research purposes.
