Research Interests

Waterborne infectious diseases; AIDS epidemiology; Clinical trial design; Meta-analysist

Professor Colford's research frequently employs randomized, controlled trials (at both the invidividual and community levels) as a study design. Colford has multiple peer-reviewed publications of both trial results as well as methodologic issues in the design of trials.  He is the Principal Investigator of NIH-funded, long-term individual and community trials in both the United States and the developing world. Participants in the BCSDP will have access to all of Colford's previously reviewed and funded study designs, questionnaires, quality control procedures, human subjects review templates, and analysis programs.
